CANCER... Everyone has been touched by it and everyone can help in finding a cure.

 

    I got involved with the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society not just to raise money, but to help make a difference. In my few years of travel, I have had numerous opportunities to be a part of something big, something that could make a change, but just recently I have come to understand the impact one single person can make. Coming from a background of multiple cancer survivors that include close friends and family members, I have been a part of the struggle to find a cure countless times. I've always been on the other end, giving support and watching as the strongest souls fight so hard. It's truly amazing to me to see such strong people in the world. It's these beautiful human beings that I feel need more recognition. These are the people we should be looking up to, the ones that should be our next generations role models, for they show the true meaning of life, spirit, and motivation. They find meaning in every day, and live life to its fullest. For example, a close friend of mine was recently diagnosed with stage 4 Lymphoma, and has truly become my idol. She is the mother of 4 beautiful children, the ideal big sister, and the pure spirit we all look to be. She goes on about everyday life as if nothing has changed, chasing her little toddlers around the house, balancing her own new organization, and all the while never giving a hint that something may be wrong. She sports her new hats and hairdos with fashion and pride, and is more beautiful now than ever. She, along with the countless others that are being touched by this unfair infirmity are the reason I'm doing what I can. I don't know if I can even make a dent in what it is we need to achieve in this world, or affect those who need it most, but I do know that if we all work together we can touch the lives of those around us.  So, I ask you all, please help. Become a part of our team to Combat Cancer and find a cure. Join us in the multiple fun events we are putting together or simply make a donation.
